Animal Hoarding is a growing problem in the United States today. A News show in Nova Scotia explores pet hoarders and uncovers several troubling statistics.
The show’s opening moments, a 40year veteran of the RCMP, now a chief inspector with Nova Scotia’s SPCA, is driving away from the latest SPCA crime scene, with cages of cats in the back of his truck.
“I didn’t realize the number of people that have 20, 30, 50 cats in their residences,” he says to the camera.
On average, the SPCA gets two or three calls a week about animal hoarders, people who collect living creatures the way some people collect trading cards.." More
