The Sebastian County Humane Society is investigating two cases of animal hoarding.
JoAnn Barton, the Humane Society director, said the first case took place in Mountainburg. The elderly couple who occupy the home were reportedly keeping more than 20 dogs and 20 cats on the property.
The group entered the home on Friday afternoon to retrieve the animals.
The society is also working a second case with the Fort Smith Police Department at a home on Bluff Avenue. Barton said neighbors called animal control about the noises and smells coming from the home..." More
