Jefferson Co. Humane Society Gets National Help
The Humane Society of the United States is stepping in to help Jefferson County officials care for more than 200 animals that were seized during a raid by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.Among the animals recovered were 200 pit bulls and various game animals. The animals were taken from the home of Sherman Bell. Deputies said they also recovered 30 marijuana plants and 80 guns from the property.Debbie Welsch with the Jefferson County Humane Society said that all the animals are safe and healthy. She said veterinarians are still assessing the animals and providing treatment when necessary..." More & video
