Cat hoarding causes flea problem at Parsippany, NJ apartment building, officials say

A one-bedroom apartment where a woman hoarded 32 cats got overrun with other critters -- fleas.

he presence of the insects in the hoarder's and neighboring apartments prompted the Parsippany Department of Housing to give the apartment complex -- Baldwin Manor Apartments on Baldwin Road -- an Aug. 19 deadline to have the entire 34-unit building exterminated.

The fleas became a nuisance in the days and weeks after the cats were removed, with at least one resident reporting they were biting his feet.

The man and woman who lived in the apartment, and also worked for the complex, no longer live in or work for Baldwin Manor, according to a Baldwin Manor notice to residents..." More & photos
