Woman charged after 109 dogs found in home

A woman who RCMP say was hoarding 109 dogs in Hay River, N.W.T., has been charged.

RCMP, along with two veterinarians from High Level, Alta., searched a kennel owned by the woman and found the dogs. Some were in cages, while other were tethered, all in various states of health. Three of the dogs had to be put down. The remaining 106 dogs are under the care of the Town of Hay River.

We have a long way to go if the charges read "unnecessary suffering." Only the voiceless animals and war victims suffer "necessary" suffering, I suppose.
