Compulsive hoarding is a psychological disease in which a person acquires far too many belongings and is unable to part with them. Tragically, there are cases where that behavior extends to pets. Compulsive hoarders will fill their homes with more animals than they can reasonably care for, creating dangerous conditions for both the animals and themselves. Oftentimes the hoarder will keep animals even after they die from lack of care and disease.
