Over the past few years, media coverage involving hoarding cases has resulted in increased attention to this issue by the public and by researchers and has raised several pervasive questions: What causes certain individuals to hoard possessions? What characteristics do they share? How can social workers and other professionals effectively intervene on their client’s behalf while considering the needs of the community at large?.." More
