Two women face animal cruelty charges, accused of keeping nearly 90 cats in their cars, many of them in poor and deteriorating health.Regina Millard, 54, and Bertha Ryan, 61, were issued civil citations by Bennington Police. The cats were seized by Bennington Animal Control.
Police said they found the women parked at the Aldi grocery store in Bennington Friday, sleeping in their cars with the cats.
There are now 86 cats as of Monday, according to an agency official. Five had to be put down, and four more kittens were born Saturday..." More
