A Palm Bay woman was arrested Tuesday morning on 17 counts of animal cruelty charges.
Police said they received a call from a neighbor and went to the home of Christine Hogle, 31, located at 2346 Coconut Palm Drive for a wellbeing check.
When officers arrived, they found and seized five dogs, eight cats, a rabbit, two dead hamsters and 1 lizard, police said.
The animals were in poor condition, with hair missing from some parts of their bodies, police said. Officers that searched the home said that nearly every room was soaked with urine and covered with trash and animal feces, and in distress.
"The conditions inside this home are absolutely disgusting," Officer Chris Richards said in a news release. "It is the worst I've seen." .." Link & slideshow
