After 40 animals were found in filthy conditions at a township woman's home Friday, animal cruelty agents are pursuing criminal charges and the county health department has declared the home unsuitable for human habitation.
Staff at Fremont Memorial Hospital, where the woman was taken Friday, were unable to release any information about her condition, citing privacy regulations.
Sandusky County Sheriff deputies responded to the home at 4444 Hayes Ave. Friday morning and found a woman inside, unconscious in a chair. They also found a cockatoo, three cats and 36 dogs, many of which deputies said were covered in their own feces..." More
